SUMMARY:PACE Hire on the Spot event
DESCRIPTION:  \n  \nAt this event\, prospective employees will learn more about Pace\, complete applications for open positions\, and can take a pre-employment assessment for professional bus operator (driver) positions. As part of their ongoing efforts to remove financial barriers for the next generation of professional bus drivers\, Pace provides FREE Class “B” commercial driver’s license (CDL) permit courses and paid training for bus operators and mechanics. \nSee details below for the upcoming ‘Hire on the Spot’ event:  \nSeptember 22\, 2026–Des Plaines \nCandidates for positions at Pace’s Northwest Division\, Des Plaines location can come to Prairie Lakes Community Center (515 E. Thacker Street\, Des Plaines\, IL) at 10:00 am\, with testing beginning promptly at 10:30am. While there\, one can apply for employment\, get interviewed\, and take a 90-minute Customer Service Assessment test. Attendees can get hired immediately and start work right away. It is encouraged that candidates complete an application online before the event and bring a copy of the confirmation with them. Please bring your valid Illinois driver’s license and a Court Purpose DMV or Secretary of State Motor Vehicle Report (MVR\, also called “Driving Record Abstract” in Illinois). If you have questions about this opportunity\, please call 847-228-3572.
